32 compete for Booster golf From KATHY GANN Last Updated: July 22, 2010
The Belle Plaine Booster Club hosted its annual golf tournament at the Wellington Golf Club last weekend with 32 players competing for prizes in this fundraising event. Some of the prizes were awarded to the first, second and third place teams as well as the longest drive and the longest putt. Many drawing prizes were from local and area businesses were given at the conclusion of the tournament and the players were treated to a full dinner from Hog Wild." Although it became hot as the day progressed, Booster Club members felt lucky it hadn't rained and everyone seemed to have a great time. Fourteen businesses sponsored holes for this tournament and all the proceeds from the tournament will be utilized throughout the year as they assist the activities at school events.

The Booster Club's annual hamburger and hotdog feed will be held at the end of August and everyone is welcome and invited to enjoy the event. Throughout the year, members host many other activities and sell a variety of logo items. An all-sports banquet concludes the school year and the Booster Club will again provide scholarships for high school seniors. The more the community supports the Booster Club, the more we can give to our local students. Even if you do not have students in school, come join us. We welcome everyone and will need your help through the year! This year's officers are president Stephanie Scott, vice president Jenni Doyle, secretary Heidi Mead and treasurer Kathy Gann.
